Warhawks remain undefeated in women's basketball

The No. 13 ranked UW-Whitewater women’s basketball team improved to 6-0 with a 53-51 victory over Coe College in a nonconference game Saturday afternoon in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

 

The Warhawks (6-0 overall) held the Kohawks to 35.2 percent shooting.

 

Senior guard Malia Smith led the Warhawks with 15 points and added six rebounds and two steals. Senior forward Andrea Meinert added 14 points and six rebounds.

 

Senior guard Brooke Trewyn contributed eight points, four rebounds, two blocks and two steals. The Whitewater High graduate enters next week with 998 career points.

 

Whitewater returns to action Tuesday as it hosts MSOE. Tipoff at Kachel Gymnasium is slated for 7 p.m.
