Jefferson remains undefeated in Rock Valley girls basketball

Jefferson used a 15-0 scoring spurt at the end of the first half and start of the second half to take command in a 52-43 victory over visiting Beloit Turner in Rock Valley Conference girls basketball action Friday night.

The host Eagles remained undefeated at 7-0 in the RVC. Turner went to 4-3.

The Trojans led 21-19 late in the first half. The Eagles then went on an 8-0 run to go into halftime with a 26-21 lead.

Jefferson scored the first seven points of the second half to open a 12-point lead and were in control the rest of the way.

Parker Fetherson scored 22 points and Jackie Luengas added 11 for the Eagles.

Elise Metzger scored 14 points and Carsen Nitz added 12 for the Trojans.

Whitewater 58, Brodhead 47—A big night from freshman guard Kacie Carollo that included 5-of-7 shooting from the line and 22 total points helped the Whippets defeat the Cardinals.

Erin Nyhus tallied 28 points for the Cardinals.

Evansville 51, East Troy 37—Paige Banks scored 23 points as Evansville improved to 2-5 in the Rock Valley Conference.

The Blue Devils built a 26-18 lead by halftime and gradually added to it in the second half. Abby Ettemoff added 12 points in the victory.

Erin Rice scored 12 points for East Troy.

Badger South girls

Edgewood 64, Milton 50—Caitlin Link scored a career-high 31 points to power the Madison Edgewood Crusaders girls basketball team to a 64-50 Badger South Conference win over the Milton Red Hawks on Friday night in Madison.

Edgewood, the reigning WIAA Division 3 state champion, improved to 6-2 overall and 4-1 in conference play.

Milton (4-2, 3-2 Badger South) has lost two straight.

Kailey Harbort led the Red Hawks with 12 points. Emma Martin added 11.
